A:Among molybdenum alloys, titanium zirconium molybdenum alloy (TZM alloy) alloy is the most widely alloy. It has great mechanical property and high temperature property. It is on the basis of molybdenum substrate to added the trace Ti, Zr and C elements, using powder metallurgy method to produce high quality TZM alloy. The ingredients includes molybdenum and trace elements which is 0.50% titanium, 0.08% zirconium, the remaining 0.02% carbon.

A: TZM molybdenum alloy has many good performance, it is widely used in aviation, industrial and military fields. In the electronics industry, TZM alloy is often made of high-voltage rectifier element, semiconductor thin film integrated circuit, tube cathode, gate, CT scan X-ray tube target used in the field. In industry, due to TZM alloy has good high temperature property and mechanical property so it is often produed as a rod, bar, nozzle shape to used in hot runner systems. In addition, TZM alloy has higher melting point, therefore, it often as ferrous or non-ferrous metal die-casting mold materials and piercing plug seamless stainless steel, such as copper rotor on the engine die. In the military field, TZM is often produce as a torpedo in the engine with the valve body, rocket nozzles, gas pipeline, the nozzle throat lining.

A: The main strengthening mechanism of TZM alloy is solid solution strengthening, the second phase strengthening and deformation strengthening. TZM alloy solid solution strengthening refers to the solid solution of Ti, Zr, C atoms resulting matrix Mo lattice defects, increases the resistance to dislocation motion, so that the alloy strength and hardness increase. The second phase strengthening of TZM alloy refers to the second phase uniformly distributed in the alloy to hinder dislocation motion and improve the deformation resistance of the alloy. In TZM alloy second phase means TiC and ZrC carbide particles. TZM alloy deformation strengthening means TZM alloy at recrystallization temperature occurs deformed strengthened by forging, extrusion and hot rolling processes, and deformation strengthening effect increase with deformation increase.
