Molybdenum Disilicide Installation
Silicon molybdenum rod (molybdenum disilicide) has two installation methods, vertically way and horizontally way. Silicon molybdenum rod at room temperature has large brittleness and at high temperature has plasticity, so silicon molybdenum rod is preferably installed by vertically way. If you need to be installed by horizontally way and it should use high temperature refractory material to support.
Vertically Installation
Molybdenum disilicide heating element has great brittleness at room temperature and at high temperature has plasticity, so it is often used vertically suspended installation method. The element is vertical installed in electric furnace by chuck. This installation method can avoid mechanical stress to press to heating element, resulting in fracture.
Supported Chuck
Supported chuck is respectively usually used for supporting diameter 9/18mm and diameter 6/12mm elements. The element weight supports by chuck and the position also determined by it, so the installation process should carefully to ensure vertically suspension. Moreover, to avoid local overheating, the lower end conical portion of element should deep into the furnace.
Wire Chuck
The contact element wire is usually made by aluminum braided wire or multilayer foil. 6 / 12mm diameter components must use single-row wire and the 9 / 18mm uses double element. The end of the wire and bus should link together. In order to avoid the stress press to element, the wire should slightly larger than bus and element’s linear distance.
Installation the heating element, at the beginning, the screws of chuck shouldn’t over tight. When the temperature rose to high temperature and then tighten element, because at the high temperature the element has plasticity and won’t easily broken. Chuck portion temperature is generally not higher than 200 ° C. When the chuck wires contact with element the voltage should be lowered 0.1V. In order to avoid radiant heat to the chuck, then distance between the lower end of chuck and the upper end of bricks should not less 50mm. To avoid damage, the general diameter of 6 / 12mm elements can not be used long time in 170A, diameter 9 / 18mm elements can not be long-term be used in 300A.
